Clinton O. Longenecker, Ph.D., is an award-winning business educator and is the Stranahan Professor of Leadership and Organizational Excellence in the College of Business Administration at the University of Toledo. His teaching and research interests are in leadership, management effectiveness, organization development, and all facets of rapid performance improvement. During his academic career he has been the recipient of nearly twenty awards for outstanding teaching and research and of several industry awards, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He has been selected Best Professor of Northwest Ohio by the Toledo City Paper in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
Clint has published over 120 articles and papers in leading academic and professional journals, including the Sloan Management Review, Academy of Management Executive, Business Horizons, Industrial Management, Journal of Compensation and Benefits, and Organizational Dynamics. He is also featured in several educational videos, including the award-winning CRM training film “Effective Performance Appraisal” and the Society of Manufacturing Engineer’s “Continuous Improvement in Manufacturing” based on his research, and he is a frequent media commentator on front-page business issues. His most recent book, Getting Results: Five Absolutes for High Performance (Jossey-Bass, 2001), describes the best practices of over two thousand high-performance managers and has been translated into eight languages.
Clint is a nationally recognized authority on rapid performance improvement and leadership and is an active management consultant, educator, and executive coach whose clients include a wide variety of Fortune 500 firms and entrepreneurial enterprises, including SSOE, ProMedica Health Systems, Eaton Corporation, Roadway Express, Dana Corporation, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and MFC. He has also served as a visiting lecturer at the University of the West Indies–Barbados and has lectured and worked extensively in Haiti, Poland, Hungary, Zimbabwe, and Russia.
